Participated in the United ENDA campaign in support of the Employment Non Discrimination Act and opposed attempts to remove gender identity or expression from employment protections.

Lobbied members of Congress from Tennessee in favor of hate crimes legislation and equal rights for all LGBT persons.

Lobbied members of Tennessee General Assembly in favor of equal rights for all LGBT persons.

Joined Nashville for All of Us Campaign, opposing two local Charter amendments.

Participated in Southern Comfort Conference in Atlanta, October 1 to 4.

Participated in Nashville CARES’ AIDS Walk on October 4.

Participated in Baltimore Black Pride on October 11.

Participated in Tennessee Valley Pride in Chattanooga, October 12 to 19.

Fourth Annual Fundraising Dinner in Nashville on October 18.

Spoke to Vanderbilt Lambda Association in Nashville on October 22.

Participated in Nashville Black Pride, October 24 to 26.

Participated in Amnesty International Conference in Memphis on November 1.

Participated in LGBT Election Night Watch Party in Nashville on November 4.

Organized the Duanna Johnson Funeral Fund.

Spoke at Join the Impact Rallies in Knoxville and Nashville on November 15.

Participated in 10th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremonies in Nashville, organized by the Tennessee Vals, on November 20, and in Memphis, organized by Perpetual Transitions, on November 22.

Appeared on Out and About Today throughout December.

6:30 p.m., in the Sarratt Student Center, in Room 216 (the Rand Function Room) on campus.

Friday, January 30, Nashville–TTPC Statewide Membership Meeting, at 7 pm.  We will elect officers, and plan strategy for 2009, including equal rights ordinances in Memphis and Nashville, statewide legislation affecting LGBT people, and for federal legislation including a fully inclusive ENDA and Hate Crimes legislation.

Tuesday, February 17, Nashville– Tennessee Equality Project’s 5th Annual Advancing Equality Day on the Hill. Join LGBT people and supporters from across the state in  as we meet with state legislators and discuss issues of importance such as Hate Crimes, Birth Certificates, Adoption Rights, Civil Unions, Education, and Voting Rights.  We will convene at 8:30 a.m., at the Rymer Gallery, located at 233 Fifth Avenue North.

Kick off 2009 on a positive note by voting early.

Early voting has begun and lasts through Saturday, January 17.

Voting will be held at the Davidson County Election Commission next to the old Howard School (800 Second Avenue South). Click here for a map to the only early voting location and click here for all the early voting dates and times.

English is the official language here, all this change does is send a message about our city.

Now is not the time to send a message of intolerance that will hurt business recruitment and drive away tourists.  Nashville is a friendly city, let’s keep it that way.
