Ban on Teaching Sexual Diversity Sent to Board of Education; Response to Rep. Shipley(0)

On Wednesday, the House K-12 Subcommittee sent HB0821 by Representative Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville), which would prevent teachers from discussing sexual diversity and would limit academic freedom and intellectual curiosity, along with all curriculum related bills, to the State Board of Education. Ban on Teaching Sexual Diversity Rolled One Week(0)

The House K-12 Subcommittee rolled HB0821 by Representative Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville), which would prevent teachers from discussing any sexual diversity and would limit academic freedom and intellectual curiosity, to this Wednesday, March 18.  The Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition opposed this bill in 2008 and remains opposed to it in 2009.

This Wednesday, March 11, the House K-12 Subcommittee will hear HB0821 by Rep.
