Ban on Teaching Sexual Diversity Rolled One Week

The House K-12 Subcommittee rolled HB0821 by Representative Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville), which would prevent teachers from discussing any sexual diversity and would limit academic freedom and intellectual curiosity, to this Wednesday, March 18.  The Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition opposed this bill in 2008 and remains opposed to it in 2009.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, representatives of TTPC will appear live on Queer Talk Radio, with host Carter Witt, to discuss the work of TTPC on legislation of interest to the LGBT community at the local, state, and national levels.
