This week, members of the Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition will participate in the Southern Comfort Conference (SCC) in Atlanta, the largest annual gathering of transgender people in the country. The Lambda Association at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro will hold a Rally to support adding gender identity and expression to the campus-wide non-discrimination policy. The House K-12 Subcommittee rolled HB0821 by Representative Stacey Campfield (R-Knoxville), which would prevent teachers from discussing any sexual diversity and would limit academic freedom and intellectual curiosity, to this Wednesday, March 18. The Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition opposed this bill in 2008 and remains opposed to it in 2009.
